East Africa Pre-Travel Itinerary and a Lion Taking Out a Gazelle

In just a couple of days, I’ll be boarding a plane to East Africa for a month long vacation full of safaris, snorkeling, beaches, and giant tortoises! I usually have a lot of trouble keeping up with blogging while I’m traveling, so I’ve decided to get a head start on it with a pre-travel blog. No idea what I’m supposed to write in one of those, so here’s some exciting itinerary!

  1. My trip begins on the archipelago of Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous province of Tanzania. There I will be meeting up with some of my family, including my sister who just spent the last 4 months studying there, to tourist it up on the beach and in the small towns around the island. We will also be spending 5 days on a safari over Christmas, so many pictures of tundra landscapes and action shots of lions taking down gazelles. Here’s a teaser:

  2. Not actually sure what’s happening next. I have the 4 days around New Years by myself, after my family leaves and before Leslie arrives to bum around. Maybe Arusha? Maybe stay in Zanzibar?
  3. Leslie will be meeting up with me in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania to do a 5 day safari through the Serengeti, visiting a bunch of different areas including the Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire.
  4. And last but not least, we’ll be spending about 10 days in Kigali with Leslie’s host family!

More blogs/pictures coming soon!
