In just a couple of days, I’ll be boarding a plane to East Africa for a month long vacation full of safaris, snorkeling, beaches, and giant tortoises! I usually have a lot of trouble keeping up with blogging while I’m traveling, so I’ve decided to get a head start on it with a pre-travel blog. No idea what I’m supposed to write in one of those, so here’s some exciting itinerary!
- My trip begins on the archipelago of Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous province of Tanzania. There I will be meeting up with some of my family, including my sister who just spent the last 4 months studying there, to tourist it up on the beach and in the small towns around the island. We will also be spending 5 days on a safari over Christmas, so many pictures of tundra landscapes and action shots of lions taking down gazelles. Here’s a teaser:
- Not actually sure what’s happening next. I have the 4 days around New Years by myself, after my family leaves and before Leslie arrives to bum around. Maybe Arusha? Maybe stay in Zanzibar?
- Leslie will be meeting up with me in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania to do a 5 day safari through the Serengeti, visiting a bunch of different areas including the Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire.
- And last but not least, we’ll be spending about 10 days in Kigali with Leslie’s host family!
